Australian Hotels Association (AHA) Victoria has opened nominations for their state awards for the industry.

AHA are encouraging everyone eligible to nominate in their allocated category/ies for the event that is to be a gala dinner at Crown Palladium on the 20th of November. Members are encouraged to complete an online nomination at their earliest possible convenience to ensure that all entered hotels can be judged in time for the awards night.

Award categories from which nominees can select from are as follows:

Individual Employee Awards

  • Emerging Leader of the Year
  • Chef of the Year
  • Excellence in Service

Dining Awards

  • Best Pub Restaurant - Regional
  • Best Pub Restaurant - Metropolitan
  • Best Casual Dining - Regional & Metropolitan
  • Best Family Dining

Gaming & Wagering Awards

  • Best PubTAB - Regional & Metropolitan
  • Best Gaming Venue with 50 Machines or Less - Regional & Metropolitan
  • Best Gaming Venue with 51 Machines or More - Regional & Metropolitan
  • Best Keno Venue - Regional & Metropolitan

General Awards

  • Burger of the Year
  • Best Pub Bar - Regional
  • Best Pub Bar - Metropolitan
  • Best Specialty Bar
  • Best Presented Beer
  • Best Live Entertainment Venue
  • Best Sports Bar - Regional
  • Best Sports Bar - Metropolitan
  • Best Innovative Retail Space
  • Best Hotel Accommodation
  • Best Hotel - Pub Style Accommodation
  • Best Outdoor Experience
  • Best Rooftop Experience

Performance Awards

  • Best Marketed Hotel
  • Outstanding Achievement in Training
  • Heart of the Community
  • Best Redeveloped Hotel - Gaming
  • Best Redeveloped Hotel - Food & Beverage
  • Best Hotel Group Operator
  • Best Function & Event Space

 Venues will be anonymously judged from May to August with all venues being visited at least once. 

Nominations close Friday 20th April.
