There is set to be a culinary showcase to celebrate beef at a series of events in Rockhampton, part of Beef Australia 2018.

Visitors to Australia’s premier beef industry event this month will be given the opportunity to hear from prominent international and local chefs on the many ways Aussie beef is consumed and enjoyed by people worldwide.

As part of this program, Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) has announced that it will be bringing internationally renowned Australian chef Curtis Stone, as well as MLA’s own celebrity chefs and beef advocated Tarek Ibrahim and Sam Burke, who are keen to demonstrate the versatility, quality and nutritional value of beef.

Events to take place include:

The Butchers Kitchen – praising Australian beef with a dedicated butchering and cooking precinct set to feature daily demonstrations from celebrity chefs, special guests and butchers showcasing the greatness of Aussie beef.

Celebrity Chef Program – gathering prominent local and international chefs to Rockhampton at the PwC Celebrity Chef Restaurant. This component of Beef Australia 2018 is designed to showcase the very best practises by leading chefs.

MLA Beefing Up Profits sessions – The Butchers Kitchen will feature MLA’s Beefing Up Profits sessions to educate attendees about Meat Standards Australia – The Australian red meat industry’s stamp of approval. Daily sessions will showcase the value added work MLA is doing with butchers and retail outlets to produce meal solutions and new ways to use beef for increased carcase utilisation.

MLA Chief Marketing & Communications Officer Lisa Sharp said the MLA supported culinary showcase, led by celebrity chef Curtis Stone, was a fantastic opportunity to educate and inform consumers about whole carcase utilisation and the versatility and nutritional credentials of Australian Beef.

“The presence of Curtis Stone throughout the program of activities will assist in capturing the attention and imagination of visitors to Rockhampton.”

As a chef, author, restaurateur, media personality and businessman, Curtis has become a household name both in Australia and overseas.

“Throughout the week, Curtis will be making appearances in the Butcher’s Kitchen, at the PwC Celebrity Chef Restaurant, Celebrity Chef Property Tour and MLA’s Global Markets Forum. Curtis will also be promoting Australian beef and Beef Australia 2018 with media from across the country from the ebent across the week,’ Ms Sharp said.
