My Room Children Cancer Charity celebrates 25 years of helping children battling childhood cancer.

The month of August marked a very special occasion for University Meat's charity partner, My Room, whom celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a huge, nationally screened Telethon hosted by the AFL Footy Show on Channel Nine. The Telethon’s success was followed My Room’s 25th Anniversary Charity Gala.

The My Room Telethon saw more than 60 Australian Rules Football players, sporting stars and television personalities taking part in the fundraising effort, on 24th August 2017, to help raise funds to prevent childhood cancer and to support those already effected.

The Telethon overcame its target of $1,000,000 and raised $1.083 million, which will go towards funding clinical research, medical equipment and family support.

After the success of the Telethon, My Room celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a huge, astronomical themed gala. The sold out event, held at the Palladium at Crown, raised over $500,000; bringing the grand total for the month to over $1.5 million. The night topped off an incredible week for the charity and University Meat wishes My Room all the best in years to come.

The funds raised during August will go towards for clinical research projects, patient and family care in support of the Monash Children’s Hospital Cancer Centre.

University Meat and My Room thank all of those who supported and donated through the month of August! We hope to continue to raise much need funds until childhood is 100% curable.
