University Meat launches “For Home” direct to consumer offer
Due to a significant increase in consumer demand for at-home meat products as a result of COVID-19, Victorian-based quality meat wholesaler University Meat is offering its wares to the broader public for the first time in its 50 year history, with a direct to consumer offer: the “For Home” range, available for purchase on universitymeat.com.au
From 4pm today, the new online store featuring the “For Home” range, offering beef, lamb, pork, chicken, sausages, cooked meats and smallgoods in handy 1kg pack sizes – we will be open for orders as follows:
Home delivery is currently available for Melbourne Metro consumers, with potential plans to expand to interstate and regional locations in the near future; though customers can also opt to pick up their orders from University Meat’s headquarters in Carlton, Victoria.
University Meat Director, Alex Marcocci, believes that in the current climate, community solidarity is critical.
“It’s so important to keep supporting each other during this time so we can keep the farmers, our supply chain and employees working in order to put food on the table. We source predominantly from Victorian producers and are proud to be able to offer such quality, local goods to the broader community”.
University Meat is a family run wholesale butcher established in heart of “Little Italy”, Carlton, Victoria, over 50 years ago.
Founded by Eusebio Marcocci OAM (who originally migrated from in Italy), University Meat has created a cohort of loyal Foodservice Customers including leading caterers, restaurants, hotels, stadiums and institutions. Though Alex emphasizes that part of its mission has always been to offer restaurant quality meat directly to the local community.
