Tonight (Thursday, August 24), tune into the AFL Footy Show on Channel 9 to support My Room Children’s Cancer Charity during their huge 3 hour Telethon!
My Room, Univeristy Meat's charity partner, is an all volunteer organization dedicated to raising funds to achieve 100% cure rate for childhood cancers. For the past 25 years, they have raised over $17 million for childhood cancer research, clinical care, quality of life for patients and family support.
Together with Channel 9 and the AFL Footy Show, My Room hosted its first telethon in 2016 with the help of sporting stars and TV personalities. The three-hour event raised an incredible $1 million, which helps fund clinical research, medical equipment and family support.
Tonight, Rebecca Maddern, Sam Newman, Eddie McGuire, Billy Brownless, Dave Hughes and Shane Crawford will be supporting all efforts on the night to raise money for My Room and help it reach its 2017 telethon target of $1,000,000.
More than 60 Australian Rules Football players, sporting stars and television personalities will take part in the telethon on 24 August 2017 as the country digs deep to support young cancer sufferers and their families.
